“We will talk about managing the heart capital, a capital that people abandoned but more people looking for it.” Said Gede Prama, while began his motivational speech at Work Semester Meeting I PT
Various divisions in PT, such as, President Director of corporate, Directors, Corporate Secretary, Senior Managers in various divisions, till workers attending motivational speech from Gede Prama on Tuesday, 19th July 2011. Gede who had created dozens of book and thousands of articles, threw out thirty logic questions before going to deep speech. That thirty logic questions revealed personality the audience both side positive either negative side.
The event was merry by singing an old song titled Pergi Belajar which created by Ibu Sud (1943). “Study is the most importing job of life,” said Gede Prama after sang that song. He mentioned that the signs of people who have learned in their life is can see a problem as vitamin, not seeing a problem as poison in life. Prama who had studied spiritual from HH Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India mentioned that it is impossible if anyone growing up without problem.
Then, Gede Prama was going back to his memory when he was a President Director. At that time, he was sick in the hospital, and he was visited by HRD Manager. He thought that she was really wise with words that she was saying at that time to Prama with tough Jawa Language. “Son, life is like school. When a problem become bigger than usual, it means that we’re had examination,” said Prama copying his HRD Manager who visited him at time.
Everybody always has a problem with, but the kind and the measure of problem are different. A successful person had to overcome every problem and temptation. We have to thank to God, if we have a problem and we can over it, added Prama.
Prama who has worked as Management Consultant in non-government famous station television Indonesia, told that it’s not worst for someone who has stress in their work. Stress it self become a sign that our boss believe with us. The more boss gives us a job, the more faith he has to us.
Gede Prama giving a stress point in his speech that it’s not true if much money that we had, much better our life. The worst thing by concerned modal material in life it can demolish your corporate and your personality. “Indonesia country can be collapse if only concentrate over modal material,” added Prama. Instead of it, modal material can accelerate the growth, but it irritate as well. There is intellectual capital which is better than material capital.
The heart capital mediates between material capital and intellectual capital. Heart be the balance between that two capitals, not substitute their place. Human who heard their heart have a persistent and calm heart. Characteristic of persistent heart there are has a commitment, trustworthy, and has its principles. Whereas characteristic of calm heart has good service, listen to others, and put mutual benefit at first.
World leader which has persistent heart are: Columbus, who proven that earth is round. “Better die with faith shows, than die with figure out nothing,” added Prama quoting Colombus. Instead of Columbus, there are Thomas Alfa Edison, Mother Theresa, and Mahatma Gandhi as well. The purpose of PT can achieved if it has firm heart, comment Prama at time.
And world leader which has calm heart is Harley Davidson. He was called American loser, but he can got up from loser to winner. It’s proven by brand of Harley which has fans and really famous. Besides Harley, there is Nelson Mandela, he forgave the people who was jailed him for 27 years.
At the end of his speech, Gede Prama told about Jalaluddin Rumi’s calm heart. This Sufi Figure in 13th century really admired by Gede Prama. Rumi gave inspiration from his poems. “Life is like onion, the more peeled it, the more pure it skins. Dirtiness only it covers, if there’s no of it can be peeled, the left by it just tears,” said Prama with spirit convey Rumi’s poem. Gede prama hope there’s is implicit message in his speech that we can learn.
