Perhatikan: nouns yang mengikuti A number of dan The number of selalu dalam bentuk plural (jamak).
Contoh:
- A number of students are going to do some research in Bali (Sejumlah/beberapa siswa akan melakukan beberapa penelitian di Bali).
- The number of people who didn’t vote last general election was a lot. (Jumlah orang yang tidak mencontreng pada pemilu terakhir adalah banyak).
- The number of days in a week is seven (Jumlah hari dalam seminggu adalah 7).
- A number of research results have been used to solve the problem (Sejumlah/beberapa hasil penelitian telah digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah itu).
